About This Store

While in Toronto, make sure to stop and experience the first freestanding Tiffany & Co. store in Canada, which opened on Bloor Street in 1991. Located in Yorkville, Toronto’s style, culture and luxury neighborhood of choice, its illuminated Tiffany Blue façade is a beacon for all lovers of beauty and brilliance. The store features Tiffany’s signature wheat leaf motif etched in mirror, marble and stainless steel throughout the store. This graceful symbol celebrates the American landscape and the grandeur of flowing golden fields and bountiful harvest. The store is rich with commissioned works of art. The hand-forged and hand gold-leafed chandeliers and sconces that are focal points of the design were created by renowned American artist Michele Oka Doner, whose workshop is located in the Soho neighborhood of New York City. Another focal point in this refined space is a large suspended mobile at the entrance of the store. Created by Japanese artist Nami Sawada, it is entitled “Air” and features a motif of falling leaves in Tiffany Blue and iridescent metals. Two paintings by New York artist Nancy Lorenz located in the fashion salon were specifically commissioned for the space and were inspired by archival starburst brooches from the 1930s. Another intricate motif in the bridal salon on the second floor, the Tiffany Magnolia, was inspired by stained glass screens originally designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany for his home on 72nd Street in New York City. The Bloor Street Tiffany & Co. store features an extensive selection of designs by Jean Schlumberger and has drawn numerous celebrities.
